Concrete Gully Surrounds are ''U'' shaped concrete moulded sections used to define and protect the area around your gully, usually at ground level, where soil or rainwater pipes meet with the foul waste drain by way of a trapped gully.

The trap on the gully is filled with water which stops smells from emanating back up from the sewer. It is also much easier to cut grass or paving in straight lines around the concrete surround because it is raised above your paving level which stops debris from being blown into your gully and causing unwanted blockages.

Application
To install the Gully Surround, start by firstly chipping the surface area where the surround is to be fitted. This will create bed for the mortar to settle in and surround to be fitted. Make sure the surface is clean and free of any debris or dust. Mix the sand and cement as per manufactures guidance, making sure the mixture is not too runny. Pour the mix onto the chipped surface area and then place some mortar onto the two ends of the Gully which will be bonded to the wall. Finally, firmly place the Gully directly onto the mortar and remove any excess making the area around it clean. Allow the mortar to cure for 48 hours.
