Torch-On Underlay Felt 1m
SIZE: 2.5mm 1m x 16m
Torch-On Underlay consists of a glass tissue carrier coated with polymer modified bitumen. The upper surface is finished with fine sand and the lower surface has a thermofusible film which rapidly melts during the torching operation.
SBS is an elastic solution that can absorb the structural movements, expansions, and contractions of the underlying components. As the UV radiation resistance is not as high as APP, the SBS layer tends to be specified with an additional finish of gravel or slate.
Torch-on roof systems are suitable for metal and concrete roof decks, but they cannot be specified with timber deck substrates due to potential fire risks. The system can be specified for new projects; however, it lends itself well to refurbishment as the existing roof doesn’t always require removing.
